I know hockey is not a major sport in the UK but i just wanted to mention the playoffs have begun in quest for Lord Stanleys Cup and my home town "Pittsburgh" is in the hunt! First the Steelers won in football and now we are rooting for our Penguins! Its very busy here in our sports! :)

Yes Kool its the NHL ice hockey playoffs. And yes we are playing our cross state rivals the Philadelphia Flyers in round one and its already become a bit rough! As of now its Pittsburgh 2 games to 0 in a best of 7 series.

Just win 2 more & you're through then...Believe Larry & all will be well! :compress:

Thanks Kool! But thats round one if we win the series its off to round 2 vs the next apponent. We lost in the finals last year 4 games to 2 for the cup but maybe this year will bring it on! Sundays game is big! :)

Kool we lost game 5 Thursday and it went to a game 6 Saturday at the flyers arena and in front of their fans we were losing 3 to 0 but we came back and won 5 to 3! First round over for us now! Very intense! I will now have that drink! lol! The second round begins for us Wednesday i believe. :)

Wow, that sounds like you've been through the wringer, Larry! I can just cope when my team has to play 2 legs!

Yes Kool its quite a battle for the cup! If every series goes the full 7 games a team could play as many as 28 games to reach the championship!

& you couldn't say the team who gets it doesn't deserve it!

Round 2 begins Saturday for us! Here we go again! lol!

We are down 2 games to 0 but the series comes home now for 2 we had better get busy and get it done!

Update: Series now 2 games to 1. Now we need to win to tie it up at 2!

Larry, sounds like a great series, very close...but I'm sure you're like me & want your team to just steam roller them!

Yes Kool i wish they would! But the teams are so evenly matched i am not sure that will happen!

SUNDAY UPDATE!: We now won 3 straight series now 3 games to 2! :)

Monday: Game 6 at Pittsburgh! It could be over and on to the next round or a forced game 7 at their rink! :confused2:

Tuesday update! Series now tied at 3 the deciding game is on Wednesday! :confused2:

Oh dear, that is the worst Larry! However, have belief (& lots of beer) & I'm sure everything will work out...it's worked for me in the past!

Series over! Pittsburgh 6 Washington 2! We win the series 4 games to 3 and await to see who we play in the conference finals. :)

Game #4 is at the away arena. If the fat lady farts game #5 will be at home and maybe then she will sing.

The fat Lady sang Tuesday night! Pittsburgh 4 Carolina 1. Pitt wins 4 games to 0. Its off to the Stanley Cup Finals! :):)

Nice one Larry...I've just seen my team win the FA Cup & went to the game. A great day...& the evening celebrations weren't bad either! Good luck my man!

My team is down 2 games to 1 with a chance to even it up Thursday at home. My fingers and toes are crossed! Detroit 2 wins so far, Pittsburgh 1 in a best of 7 games. Its a race for 4 wins!

Yes it is! Sports are talent, a bit of luck, a lucky bounce, and momentum so anything can and usually does happen! Fingers are crossed!

Series now tied at 2 games each! Fingernails are gone and i am now working my way to the first knuckles!

Kool you seem to be at least marginally interested so i have an update. My team Pittsburgh lost Saturday night so we are now behind 3 games to 2. With game 6 in the series here at home Tuesday to force a final game 7 at Detroit only if we win to tie it at 3 games each. Forget the finger nails and hands i am now nibbling at my elbows! lol!
