Gillingham win again!

Now they're 5 points clear, with a game in hand. I wish Arsenal were more like Gillingham... I bet Gillingham don't continually rip off their fans either. They only have 10 games left, so it looks odds on that they'll get promoted this season. If they do go up to League One, how well do you think they'll do next season?

Also, I was pleased that Wigan beat Everton yesterday. I really rate Roberto Martinez as a manager and he seems to be a nice bloke too. Maybe if someone could persuade the old man Wenger to leave...

A fairly good weekend all round :-) esp as Liverpool won yesterday

Glad that Gillingham won and their position in the league.

I am a bit worried about Norwich especially as Holt (their leading scorer) missed the penalty on Saturday against So'ton as they really needed the 3 points!

The thing about the premier league this season is, in my opinion, there really isn't that much in it. Certainly not as much as pundits would have you believe there is. The popular assumption would be for teams such as Norwich not to worry, that 3 of the bottom 5 will be relegated. I don't buy into that. With QPR starting to pick up wins, I expect (and hope) that Wigan will start picking up more wins around this time and Aston Villa looking less suicidal when ahead in games, I think it's closer than that. I'd say anyone from tenth down could lose 2 games consecutively and find themselves right in the relegation scrap. Conversely, winning 2 games in a row could lift one of these teams to tenth and looking more or less safe from relegation this season. The thing about the premier league this season is that teams are now going on winning runs and losing runs, probably due to the increased closeness of the teams. I think all the teams from tenth down should be at least slightly worried about this. On the other hand, 2 wins, maybe even just 1 win, and the whole picture changes for your team. The other thing about teams going on winning runs is that these teams can also beat the top teams when on a run (again, in my opinion this is more likely than pundits would have you believe) and so they can go into any game thinking they have an actual chance and that one win can easily lead to another.
