John you seem to be a sports fanatic! Join the club! lol! Alot going on in the states. College basketball "which my home town college Pittsburgh is in the big tournament!" And i know you all do not always follow hockey but my Pittsburgh Penguins are in a battle for a playoff spot. And the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl win. But what you may not know is how much your premier league football/soccer is monitored here on our sports channels on TV and on the net. It is of interest to many here and i hope may the best teams win and its always fun to follow your favorites!

Really love Ice Hockey but rarely get to see it over here in Blighty, doh!

So, are still celebrating the Steelers win in the Bowl Larry?!

larrydude 20-03-09 11:30

The parties and parades are now over. Its time to just feel good about the Steelers victory. The only team in the NFL to own six world titles. The hockey Pittsburgh Penguins have gone on a major winning streak and are surging towards the playoffs. And our Pitt Panthers college basketball team is beginning as a #1 seed in March madness. I just wish our Pirates baseball team faired better. In retrospect there is alot happening in the world of sports in my town! :)

koolsupafly 20-03-09 12:45

Blimey - there sure is...I didn't realise Pittsburgh was such a hub of sporting activity!

The one thing us Brits can't touch you Yanks for are your cheerleaders! I saw a picture of David Beckham at a Lakers basketball game & he couldn't take his eye off a really gorgeous brunette cheerleader with the curviest bottom wearing extremely tight shorts!!!...had to get back to the topic of women eventually, ha ha!!

larrydude 22-03-09 13:05

Kool i can agree the cheerleaders can make you forget the game very quickly! ;)

koolsupafly 22-03-09 13:35

Just like to say well done the Irish on the Grand Slam in the rugby...England may win another one some day & I'm sure Johnno will get it right!

& guys - nothing wrong with loving sports...an ex-girlfriend of mine once said "good luck in finding a woman who loves football as much as you do!"...oops! :compress:

After a super bowl victory the Pittsburgh Steelers are struggling a bit this season. Must win all of their remaining games to have a shot at the NFL playoffs. Maybe its a superbowl hangover? But their fans keep waving the "terrible towels" nation wide and try to bring them some luck! :)

larrydude 21-12-09 18:41

Sunday Dec.20th the Steelers won with no time left on the clock at home and it was an amazing last second victory! They still might miss the playoffs but it has to make them and the fans feel pretty good!

larrydude 26-12-09 15:24

On another subject the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL hockey team is presently tied with the best team won/lost record at the moment. The year after winning the Stanley Cup. And the Pittsburgh Panther college football team is in a bowl game this year. And their basketball team made it to the elite 8 last year. Things are good here in sports. Our only teams that are struggling a bit is our Pirates baseball team and the Riverhounds soccer team. And the Steelers are still in the playoff hunt after the Super Bowl victory and a "bit of an off the mark" season so my fingers are crossed for good luck.
