Default General tech question (Internet without electricity?)

Question for anyone who relies heavily on their internet......

Is there any way for a Laptop that's running on battery power to be able to connect to the internet via phone socket without the need for it to require electricity?

It would seem that all modern routers have an actual mains power plug that must be plugged into a wall socket. I did have an old BT Voyager 105 that was just a modem and ran off of a USB socket and not an actual power supply socket. But that old thing is not compatible with any post Windows XP operating systems.

Where I live we get, on average, about 6 power cuts a year. Most of them are actually intentional by the electricity company and they give us a few weeks notice of when the power is going to be off all day.

You could build a paper house with all the notice slips I have received over the last 12 years!

Thanks for reading.
