Default Hunter and Prey

Hunter and Prey

She ran. She ran through the lush forest. Not really sure which way to go. She never was a scout so she had no idea how to get out of here. She just ran, as far as she could. Her heart beating in her throat, her body trembling with adrenaline. She was panting. Out of breath. Her throat sore. Sher heard the babbling of a little creek and followed the sound.

Alertly listening to the sounds of the forest. She didn’t hear any footsteps approaching. She knelt next to the creek. She cupped her hands and took a few sips. Carefully at first to make sure it was indeed drinkable water, but soon her thirst and aching throat took over and she gulped the water down. Also dabbing her wrist and face with the water.

How the hell did she end up here? she asked herself for the umpteenth time. It was a mistake. She should have never accepted that drink from that guy. She should’ve never stayed in the club alone after all her friends had gone home and she should have never accepted that drink. But how could she know that it was drugged? How could she have known? She shook my head and took another sip of water. It wasn’t about how she got here. It was about getting out of here, about escape. She sat up an looked around. Were did she come from again? She tried to orientate herself, the trees all looked alike. It was a cloudy day, the sun came and went.

He’d given her a head start. It was her first time so she could use a little head start. He tapped his foot on the ground and looked at his wristwatch. Three. Two. One. It beeped. He started walking. She had left a perfect trail of broken twigs and trampled flowers.

No time for a little break she decided. She had to keep going. She pushed herself up and looked around, then she started running again. Her muscles aching, she was out of breath already. Maybe she didn’t have to run as long as she kept walking. Somewhere she would find a road, a cabin, a city. She would find help. A few days ago she’d woken up in a cage. She couldn’t even remember how long ago it actually was. She was fed these bottles of water and all of them seemed to be laced with some drug or sedative. Until this morning. This morning her water wasn’t laced, she could think clearly, she could easily wriggle her wrist past the bars and open up the cage. What a luck! The doors were unlocked as well she could just walk out of the little cabin she was kept in. He wasn’t in sight at all. She walked out the door and started running, she just started running. Maybe he didn’t even know she was gone yet, maybe all of her fear wasn’t necessary. She would find someone and go to the police.

He watched her from behind the trees as she drank at the creek. It would’ve been so easy to shoot her with a sedation dart right then and there, but he didn’t want the game to be over yet. She needed to put up a proper fight. Tracking her down to the river had been too easy. He watched disappointed as he saw her slowing down and started walking. Did she give up already? Maybe he could ignite some survival instinct, or maybe he could set himself a little rule to make it a bit more challenging, not using the sedation darts to knock her out from a distance.

A bang. A shot. As she looked over her shoulder she saw his silhouette right behind her. A dark shadow pointing a shotgun at her. In the tree next to her stuck a silver cylinder with a yellow plume on top. She started running again. Running and screaming. She heard his big shoes stomping on the ground behind her, breaking twigs. Following right behind her. She screamed and picked up some speed. She jumped over a tree trunk and made a sharp corner to the left. Still he was closing in on her. She could hear him panting right behind her. His hand grabbed her shoulder. She turned and shook him of, a step or two, again his hand on her shoulder. This time she couldn’t get away. He pulled her in. He pulled her close to his own body. A musky sweat. Hairy hands. Hugging her. Keeping her in place. She struggled to get out. A damp rag was placed over her nose and mouth. His hands pressed to cotton firmly against her face. A sweet smell. A chemical smell. Her ears started ringing. He nibbled on her earlobe, his teeth softly biting down in her neck. She struggled to get away. A wave of dizziness. Her vision blurring. She felt the energy draining away from her muscles. Her body becoming loose and limp. Melting into his chest. His soft voice whispering in his hear.

‘That’s right. I’ve won. Surrender now.’

Her thoughts slowing down. She barely registered what was going on. Only this dull ringing dizziness registered. And his hand grabbing her between her legs, his fingers fondling her pussy.

He watched her eyes flutter and roll away. Her head limply bobbing up and down. He found his way into her pants, into her panties and felt her up, slowly rubbing his finger up and down, then entering her. He was getting aroused. Her helpless body limply hanging in his arms. He rubbed himself against her curvaceous butt, a round dollop of flesh for him to do with as he pleased. He removed the cloth and kissed her on her slightly parted lips. She still tasted like chloroform. When she started to stir and grumble he put her down on the ground.

She woke up. Dazed she looked around. I took a while before she realized where she was. She tried to sit up straight and saw her pants being unbuckled and unzipped. Startled she looked around. What had happened? She just couldn’t understand? He had caught her right? But then he left her alone again? Why? She crawled up, she laced her shoe and looked around again. Maybe it was all a dream, maybe he hadn’t caught her yet, maybe she just fainted from all of the exercise? Could that be it. Ruffling sounds came from the bushes. She started walking. It didn’t matter. What mattered now, was how to get out of here. She looked up to the sky and try to find the sun, she couldn’t find it, so she just started walking into a random direction. Suddenly he was standing in front of her. She turned around but he was way quicker. He grabbed her by the throat and pushed a smelly cloth into her face. A familiar smell. A familiar dullness in her head. It was quickly taking her over.

He watched her face. Her fearful face changed into a confused look and finally it morphed into a careless blissful dazed glance.

‘Good girl.’ He told her. Even though he knew full well it wouldn’t register any more and she would be knocked-out within seconds. This was the moment, the moment he longed for the, that moment right between wakefulness and fear and deep unconsciousness. The dazed moment right in between the two states. She fought to keep her eyes open. Sweet little thing. Her pupils kept rolling away, her eyelids sinking shut, but then she yanked them open again. She kept on breathing, inhaling the fumes from the cloth. Maybe most of it had been vaporized by now, if she’d gotten a fresh doze she would have been lights out by now.

He groped her boob for a moment and rubbed his crotch against hers. If only there was a way to keep her right on that edge, that edge off unconsciousness, maybe if he gave her a few whiffs of fresh air in between. Her head lulling from side to side. Her eyes still rolling and fluttering. No, she was too far gone already. The perfect moment was gone. He put a new dose of chloroform on the cloth and held the fabric close to her face to help her out of her misery, then he prepared himself for the next little hunt.

It was a game of catch and release, she realized as she woke up again. She grabbed her head and tried to shake the haze out of it. She somehow still felt intoxicated. She sat up straight and leaned with her back against the trunk of a tree. So maybe if she didn’t run away it wouldn’t be fun for him to chase her down? Maybe if she just sat here, he would leave her be. There were just trees, trees and bushes everywhere. Would he be looking at her right now. She didn’t care. She laid her head on her knees for a little while and rested. Those haze had to disappear first. She had to think clearly, to come up with a plan. With a little twig she drew a little triangle in the dirt. A plan. Thinking logically. He liked to chloroform her, next time, she would just hold her breath as long as she could... and then... it would be impossible to steal that rag, but maybe he had to have a little bottle with him, maybe she could steal that, so she could dose him. That was a plan.

Why wasn’t she standing up? Why was she still sitting against that three? By now she must feel good enough to start moving again. Should he scare her or should he wait a few moments more. There. She pulled herself up at the branches of the tree and started moving again. Slowly at first, carefully looking around as if she was looking for something. Was she looking for him maybe? He followed, her slowly and quietly, he moved in closer and closer, and then let out a scream. It frightened her, yet she didn’t run as hard as the first time, it was more of a jog and disinterested jog. Had she given up already? After only two catches. When he picked her up at the club he had specifically chosen her, because she seemed like the fighter type. He followed her, but it wasn’t that difficult to overpower her, to push her up against a tree and cover her nose and mouth with the rag. She didn’t even fight back. She just stood there. Watching him. Her eyes piercing into his. She scared him and he looked the other way. She didn’t even put up a struggle, her hands just made some fainthearted gestures at his torso.

She inhaled deeply. He saw her chest rising. Had she been holding her breath all this time. She inhaled again. As if she was out of breath. Her eyes glassy. Watery. Drooping eyelids.

She felt a tiny glass bottle in the palm of her hand. Right in time. She was unable to hold her breath any longer. She inhaled deeply, willingly, she welcomed the daze, the fluttering feelings, the twisting dizziness, she felt her knees giving out and she sank onto the ground.

A few moments later she woke up, still laying in that same position. The bottle of chloroform still hidden in the palm of her hand. She blinked and stretched out her body, hoping it would chase away that drowsy nebula that seemed to cover her mind. She examined the little bottle. She twisted of the cap and smelled. Briefly. Very briefly. It was the same pungent chemical smell that covered the rag. She took her t-shirt off. Folded it into a nice little square and sprinkled some of the chloroform on top of it.

‘Come out, come out, wherever you are?’ She teasingly yelled.

Now it was his turn to be confused. Why did she take her shirt off? Why was she yelling at him, taunting him, telling him to come out, did she start to enjoy the chloroform? Maybe. That also explained why she didn’t struggle the last time. This was a weird one. He never had a girl acting like her, like this. She should just run away in fear, she should try to escape. He squinted as he studied her movement. Should he give in? Should he just walk into the open spot and grab her again?

For a moment he hesitated then he walked onto the grass. She came running to him. She jumped on his back and pushed a smelly little square into his face. He tried to throw her off his back, but she was firmly clamped onto him. Pushing that smelly fabric onto her face over and over again. A sweet chemical smell. He started to feel dizzy. She was chloroforming him. He suddenly realized. That little snake. He pushed her of his back and checked his pockets. Yeah, she’d stolen his chloroform.

‘Clever.’ He said. ‘Very clever. You’re the first to actually try that.’

She tried to put the cloth back in his face again, but this time he was prepared and he could fight her off. He grabbed the sedation gun of his back and pointed it to her.

‘Luckily there’s more ways to render a smart girl like you helpless.’ He said aiming the gun at her shoulder.

He pulled the trigger. She pushed the barrel out of the way. Screamed in fear. She started running. He missed and had to reload. Quick. He aimed at her frail body running away from him and shot again.

A sharp sting in her shoulder. A cloud of dull tingles spreading quickly through her skin. She tried to fight it off, to keep running, but her body was wobbling, her steps wavy, she grabbed the nearest tree trunk to help herself stand up straight. Her body was faltering, she sank to the ground, she tried to crawl further away even though she knew it was pointless. A rush of tranquility rose to her head. Suddenly the ground felt soft, she was happy, satisfied. He was standing next to her. High and looming towering over her.

‘See.’ He said with a smile. He knelt next to her tenderly stroking her cheek for a moment. ‘Give in. Surrender to the drug. I’ll take good care of you and tomorrow you'll get to play outside again.’ Her head spinning. Drowsy sleeping. There was a ravine. A big dark ravine that grew deeper and deeper, that grew all the way around her. 'Tommorow you get to play outside again.'
