If anyone is experiecing slow download speed you might want to complain to your ISP.
I know for a fact that PA servers delver at least close to 1 meg a sec.
Probably even faster but thats the highest that I can get on my cable connection.
I had noticed a very large dicrepency on dl speed over the last few months where for most of the time I was getting less then 1/10th the speed I should get. At the time I figured that there was just a high sever load even though the times when I did recive a half decent rate didnt really make sence. ie 2-3 pm in the UK.
Well 3 nights ago the largest TV network in Canada did a story about how ISP's where selling people high bandwidth accounts and then limiting there dowload speeds. A few hours after that story aired my download from PA went from an average of 40Kbs to 450 kbs per chanel with 2 files downloading thats close to 1 meg a sec. (I am suposed to get arround 800Kbs a sec) I am guessing that after that story aired they were worried that many people would check there DL speeds find out that they were not getting what they were sold and demand a refund.
It will be interesting to see if my DL speed revert to the 17-40 kbs a second I was getting a week ago.
If you have a high speed account and get crappy DL speeds from PA find a site preferably somewhat close to you that tests your download speed (there are many sites that check you internet conection speed) and see if you are getting the speed your ISP sold you.
Even if the test shows a good DL rate but you are getting slow dl speeds from PA I would still complain to your ISP. Living where I do (only 600 miles from the west coast I would think that anywhere in North America should recieve similar download rates as long as you have a high speed connection.
