Debit card issues

Hi,

I ran into difficulties trying to join SSSF by debit card through CCBill a few days ago. The problem appears to be the purchase of 18+ content on a card that can be issue to anyone over the age of 16 in the UK. The options given were to either sign up using a credit card or email ID to the site owners for manual approval.

I was wondering whether this was something you'd enabled? Is it a fixed policy, or would joining through another payment processor allow access without a credit card? If it is something that has been enabled, is it in place for all of your sites (I joined SSF around a month ago with the same card with no issues) or just the more adult ones?

Hi Idris,

Unfortunately UK law does not allow access to +18 material without proof of age and this can only be validated wither by means of a credit card (which you have to be over 18 to own) or other verification such as a drivers licence or passport.

This ONLY applies ot the UK.

A debit card can be held by people at 16 years of age so is not deemed valid for identity purposes.
