I seem to remember John telling me some years back that he spent some time at law school in his youth when he had designs on becoming the next Perry Mason. I don't know how far he got with his studies but he is bound to have picked up some basics when it comes to compiling a watertight defence. ( whether he is able to defend the indefensible however, is another question altogether )

It's very handy having someone with a bit of legal expertise as a spouse. Whether he is prepared to risk his reputation with only an infinitesimal chance of victory depends on how persuasive you can be and what you can offer him by way of incentive! (suggestions on a postcard ).

I fear that any judge who witnesses your DIP vid of 21st.May with Charley Atwell is unlikely to accept your claim of entrapment, however benevolent an individual he may be. ( If you get a female judge, there is no point in even attending court unless you change your plea.) Even the intrepid Inspector Clouseau would struggle with that one.

I am more concerned for your good lady wife who has been plying this trade for nearly a decade, ~~~ you only took up banditry a few months ago when you exchanged rolls.
